I moved to the Nebraska Sandhills in 1978 to a local ranch. At first I joined art clubs and took any workshop I could find to enhance my art talents, later being accepted to the Nebraska Arts Council and creating the Panhandle Visual Arts Program, providing art workshops in rural schools across Nebraska. I moved to the Nebraska Sandhills in 1978 to a local ranch. At first I joined art clubs and took any workshop I could find to enhance my art talents, later being accepted to the Nebraska Arts Council and creating the Panhandle Visual Arts Program, providing art workshops in rural schools across Nebraska. With the need to enrich my knowledge in the visual arts, I attended Chadron State College for a degree in Art. Life proceeded with a new marriage to my husband Cal and a new adventure with the Pot Shop and Art Gallery!

I use many different mediums, such as clay, acrylics, watercolors and oils. I believe that working in a single medium is restrictive to my artistic process. Each idea manifests in its own individual style. I love embellishments and pretty details and put a little of my fun personality into each piece I create.

My Swiss imigrant father and grandparents homesteaded a farm in Platte County, where I grew up. Having both parents with Swiss heritage, my ancestry richly developed my talents and personality, which has carried over into my teaching and my art. I also find inspiration in the beautiful Nebraska Sandhills and the ranching way of life.
